What we do
Each team plays a crucial role in our operational framework, contributing unique skills and perspectives that enrich our collective efforts. Our operational structure is designed to support community-led Māori language revitalisation. Te Mātāwai understands that for the community-based model to develop and grow effectively, we need to resource internally to have the full support structure in place.
Te Mātāwai is an exceptional workplace with special characteristics not found or seen in other workplaces. We have 25+ high performing kaimahi, the majority whakapapa Māori, predominantly under the age of 35, graduates of kōhanga reo and kura kaupapa Māori, competent confident te reo speakers, living tikanga practices, sharing their deep hapori networks, intrinsically and overtly proud whānau Māori.
All our kaimahi have a strong strategic vison alignment with inherent natural aptitude to the kaupapa of Te Mātāwai – kia ūkaipō anō te reo. These characteristics plays a crucial role in delivering the operational outputs, contributing themselves and perspectives that enrich our collective efforts.
The synergistic effort among the tightknit teams is fostered through a management approach that emphasises purpose and direction, encouraging every member to understand their role within the larger context of our objectives. This integrated and interdependent working relationship ensures that we leverage our diverse strengths and maintain alignment with our strategic goals.
