Te Reo Mau-ri
Te Reo Mau-ri is a wānanga led by Anaru and Kaharau Keogh, focusing on the revitalisation of te reo Māori through the traditional art of mau rākau. This kaupapa integrates linguistic, cultural and ancestral knowledge, offering rangatahi the opportunity to deepen their connection to te reo Māori, tikanga Māori and te taiao mainly within the Waikato region.
Activities include learning whakataukī, ngā karakia a Tūmatauenga, kupu related to taiaha, muka, whatu taura and understanding the cultural significance of native trees in crafting rākau.
By weaving different components of te ao Māori into these wānanga, the holistic well-being of the tauira are nurtured.
